Andy Bates from London, England has been residing in Florida since 2016 working as a personal chef and owner of catering event company, The Avenue, bringing his overwhelming enthusiasm and passion for food from the UK to the US.

Andy began his culinary adventures in a village pub at the tender age of 15. However, by the time he was 17, he was working in a Michelin star restaurant and by 19 he was refining his skills in France. Andy then spent his twenties back in the UK, working with some of the best chefs in London; eventually leading him to start his own company selling British classics such as pies, scotch eggs, pasties, custard tarts and many more forgotten gems. The company, of course, was called “Eat My Pies”, and Andy affectionately became known as ‘The Pie man’.

With the sudden boom in the street food culture, The Food Network Channel quickly spotted Andy’s talents and signed him up to front his own show. Embarking on a whirlwind tour around the world, Andy filmed three highly successful series; Andy Bates Street Feasts, Andy Bates American Street Feasts and Andy Bates Brazilian Street Feasts. The cameras followed him as he travelled across continents to explore the world of street food and find the stories and people behind the recipes. With the success of these shows, and a subsequent cookbook, Andy soon became a leading expert with regular appearances on the food circuit and consulting start up businesses.

Andy compliments his love for food with his passion for life. Whether he is in his beloved truck, on his paddle board or in the kitchen, it is done with a smile and probably listening to Bowie.
